She is originally from Rhodesia and is the daughter of Lynette and Michael Will stock. She commenced her career in swimming by representing South Africa at the Sydney Olympics of the 2000s, and her team came fifth in the 100 m relay x4. She then took retirement in 2007 from professional swimming. She met the prince at a swimming competition in Monaco, Monte Carlo, in 2000, and they had a lasting relationship. She married him on 1st July 2011, and she has twins with the prince that she gave birth to on 1st July 2011. She does a lot of donation work, and all of them revolve around unprivileged children, AIDS, and sports. She has founded the foundation of Princess Charlene to support her humanitarian endeavors in 2012. She has participated in the 1999 All-Africa Games, where she won a silver medal and three gold medals. She also represented her country in the 2002 commonwealth games and 1998 one, where she won a silver medal.
