After studying the dental records, it was determined that the remains were indeed those of Brian Laurie. Find out more information on whether Brian Laundrie is still alive or not.

Who is Brian Laundrie?

Gabby Petito, a blogger, went missing in July after setting off on a road trip with her fiance Laundrie. Petito’s stepfather, Jim Schmidt, claims that Laundrie and Petito first met while they were both students at Bayport-Blue Point High on Long Island, New York. They started dating in March of 2019 and based on their Instagram photos. It seems they were engaged around July 2020. As Laundrie put it in one of her posts, my greatest worry is that one day I’ll wake up, and it will have all been a dream since that is exactly how it has been ever since we met each other. I’m glad the answer was yes.

According to available evidence, Laundrie’s income came from selling his bizarre designs under Bizarre Design. His Instagram features drawings, bookmarks, and linocut prints. The 23-year-old Laundrie, according to an unnamed former coworker, is an expert at wild survival. The unidentified source mentioned hiking in their comments to the New York Post. Brian boasted that the longest he had ever stayed in the wilderness was six weeks and that he had survived on nothing except a huge pack of cheese or peanut butter crackers.

What exactly took place throughout the journey?

Laundrie and Petito’s cross-country trip was documented on his YouTube channel and other platforms. Instagram posts from the pair showed them smiling and cuddling, but eyewitness accounts and video footage show a completely different story. Utah police released security video showing an officer pulling down the two’s car on August 12 after it was observed speeding and hitting a barrier in Arches National Park.

Bodycam video shows a distraught Petito being questioned by police while sitting in a police cruiser. The responding officer said Petito had mental health difficulties. Gabrielle never stopped sobbing, breathing excessively, or composing a statement throughout their inquiry. Police chose not to press charges, and Laundrie checked into a hotel while Petito slept in the converted van. They described the separation as a mental/emotional health break rather than domestic abuse.

Police in Moab, Utah, has released a video in which Petito describes an altercation between the two. When asked by an officer whether Laundrie struck her, Petito says, “I suppose, I guess, sure” on the video. There was also a report that a witness in Moab, Utah, saw Laundrie slapping and beating Petito weeks before she vanished.
